Bengaluru: The IPL 2025 title celebration for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) tragically turned fatal near the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, resulting in 11 deaths and injuries to around 45 people due to a stampede. After RCB ended their 18-year wait for an IPL title, lakhs of fans gathered in Bengaluru to welcome their favorite cricket stars.

Police stated that the uncontrolled crowd led to the disaster. Virat Kohli expressed his shock on Instagram, writing, "At a loss for words. Absolutely gutted." Legendary cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Anil Kumble also extended their condolences via X, wishing strength and peace to the affected families and a speedy recovery to the injured.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced a compensation of ₹10 lakh for the families of the deceased and assured free medical treatment for those injured.
