Plane Crashes in Ahmedabad While Attempting to Take Off; 242 Passengers On Board

A plane crashed in Ahmedabad, Gujarat while attempting to take off. The incident occurred near the airport and involved an Air India Express flight bound for London. Reports indicate there were 242 passengers on board. Rescue operations have begun.

The Prime Minister’s Office has requested details about the passengers. The aircraft involved was a Boeing 787. Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with the Gujarat Chief Minister regarding the incident, which took place in the residential area of Meghaninagar.

The crash happened around 1:30 PM today. Initial reports suggest the aircraft hit a tree during takeoff, though this information is not yet official. The severity of the crash remains unclear. Police, fire services, and all emergency teams have reached the site for rescue efforts.
