With a heartfelt act of service, Arijit Singh opens ‘Heshel’ restaurant in Murshidabad, offering nutritious meals for just ₹40.

Popular Bollywood singer Arijit Singh has launched a new restaurant named ‘Heshel’ in Jiaganj, Murshidabad, his hometown in West Bengal.

Beyond the world of music, Arijit is now earning public admiration for his strong sense of social responsibility. The name 'Heshel', which means 'kitchen' in Bengali, perfectly reflects the restaurant’s mission — offering nutritious meals for just ₹40. The primary goal of this initiative is to make quality food affordable for common people, especially students and daily-wage workers.

The restaurant is run by Arijit Singh’s father, Gurdayal Singh, and is part of the family’s long-standing business. By providing meals at such a low cost, the restaurant offers significant relief to the common man and students alike. Operating from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Heshel serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. While the ₹40 meal is available to all, some reports suggest that the scheme is mainly intended for students.

Unlike many celebrities who open luxury restaurants, Arijit Singh’s effort stands out as a genuine attempt to serve the needy with dignity. His thoughtful initiative has already garnered widespread praise and is being seen as a powerful example of community commitment.
