Janhvi Danketi breaks boundaries; becomes the first Indian selected as an astronaut candidate for Titan Space’s inaugural orbital mission.

Blazing new trails in space travel, Janhvi Danketi has been officially selected as an astronaut candidate for Titan Space’s inaugural orbital mission set for 2029. Representing India on a global stage, this young space enthusiast is proving that dreams know no boundaries.

Hailing from Palakollu in Andhra Pradesh, Janhvi Danketi is also the first Indian to complete NASA’s prestigious International Air and Space Program (IASP). She will undergo an intensive three-year training program starting in 2026 to prepare for the mission. The curriculum includes spacecraft systems, flight simulation, emergency procedures, medical evaluations, and survival training.

The Titan Space mission, expected to launch in March 2029, will last approximately five hours. During the journey, participants will orbit the Earth twice, witnessing two sunrises and two sunsets. They will also experience nearly three hours of continuous zero gravity, offering a unique environment for scientific research and the advancement of human spaceflight. Janhvi has previously contributed to NASA’s International Astronomical Search Collaboration (IASC) for asteroid detection. She is also the youngest foreign analog astronaut and the first Indian to take part in Space Iceland’s geology training program.

These accomplishments highlight Janhvi’s deep knowledge and commitment to space science and technology.
