Kamala Harris Interview Controversy: Trump Receives Crores in Settlement from Paramount Over Lawsuit

Paramount Global has agreed to settle a lawsuit filed by President Donald Trump, who alleged that an interview with Kamala Harris on CBS’s “60 Minutes” was deceptively edited. The case, filed in Texas, sought $20 billion in damages and accused the network of media bias.

As per the settlement, Paramount Global will pay $16 million (approximately ₹133 crore), including legal fees, to Trump. A portion of the amount will be allocated to his future presidential library. Additionally, Paramount — the parent company of CBS — has agreed to release transcripts of interviews with U.S. presidential candidates after broadcast, with necessary redactions for legal or national security reasons.

The settlement does not include any apology from Paramount. Notably, this settlement comes at a time when Paramount is undergoing an $8 billion merger with Skydance Media.
