National Sports Policy 2025 aims excellence, economic growth and social progress and it targets Olympics, Paralympics,Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.Building upon the foundation laid by National Sports Policy 2001,the Khelo India Scheme,Target Olympic Podium Scheme etc.,
The policy aims India to win two digit gold medals in 2036 Olympics and to put India among the first five nations in the world of sports by 2047.
The National Conclave organised by SAI- LNCPE,Thiruvananthapuram in this regard discussed in length the possibilities and the hurdles as well.
The deliberations at the conclave reinforced the collective vision of building a strong and sustainable sporting ecosystem for the nation through Khelo Bharat Niti.
The Sports Conclave 2025 served as an important platform to bring together jurists, policymakers, sports administrators, athletes and
sports journalists to deliberate on the roadmap for Indian sports in the years to come targeting 2036 especially, since we are all set to try for hosting Olympics 2036 in India.

The function was formally inaugurated by Justice C. Hari Shankar, Hon. Judge, High Court of Delhi who was the Chief Guest.
Other dignitaries include Khel Ratna awardee Olympian KM Beenamol, Dhyan Chand awardee and former Indian hockey player and coach Romeo James, Sunil Kumar, president, Kerala Olympic Association and Raghuchandran Nair, vice president and executive director, Kerala Olympic Association.
Dr. A. K. Uppal, Chairman of PEFI and former vice chancellor ,Jiwaji University, Gwalior. Dr. M. P. Ganesh,former Indian hockey captain,coach and Arjuna awardee, Dr. Harendra Singh, Dronacharya awardee and head coach, Indian women’s hockey team gave special addresses.
Dr G Kishore, regional director SAI and Principal LNCPE presented an overview of the policy, Khelo Bharat Niti 2025.

The knowledge sessions by sports journalists Sanil P Thomas and Gireesh along with an engaging panel discussion featuring sports journalists Dr Vimal Mohan NDTV, Rakesh, Ansar S Raj, Sanil Shah, Manoj,Aswin Asok Kumar and Vishnu Raj Director DSYA enriched the conclave with diverse perspectives.
The valedictory address was delivered by Dilip Tirkey,former Indian hockey captain and president, Hockey India, followed by the vote of thanks by Lt. Lovey Debora Cruz. Dr. Pradip Dutta delivered the welcome address.
As the sports minister Dr Mansuk Malavia pointed out earlier "through this reform, the sports sector in the country will change."And, India would join the 25 other countries which already have a sports law.As IOA president P. T.Usha said, the policy is about justice and fair play.Now let's see it's implementation, wait how it's interpreted and hope for a sporting India.
