American Town Mayors and Council members Shake a Leg and Win Hearts at Hum Sub Diwali 2025

Cary, North Carolina — October 2025:
Every year, the Hum Sub Diwali celebration organized by the cultural non-profit Hum Sub lights up North Carolina with vibrant colors, rhythmic beats, and community spirit. This year, the much-loved “Celebrity Segment” once again stole the show — when the mayors and town council officials of Cary, Apex, and Morrisville took to the stage, dancing to Bollywood hits and winning hearts with their infectious energy.
Held at the scenic Koka Booth Amphitheatre, Hum Sub Diwali is a free, day-long festival offering an immersive experience of Indian culture in the American South. Over 15,000 attendees enjoy a rich lineup of classical, folk, and Bollywood performances by talented Third Culture Kids, along with food stalls, artisan vendors, and a cultural exhibition highlighting India’s diverse heritage.
Now in its 25th year, Hum Sub Diwali has become the signature celebration of the Festival of Lights in the Carolinas, uniting communities in a joyful blend of tradition, inclusion, and togetherness. The evening culminates in live performances by artists flown in from India and a grand fireworks display that dazzles the Carolina sky.
The Celebrity Segment, introduced a few years ago, has grown into a crowd favorite. Local leaders rehearse for weeks, donning colorful costumes sponsored by community businesses, and showcasing the joy of shared cultural connection through music and dance.
