AAP celebrates; Kiran Bedi trailing; BJP congratulates Kejriwal

Frenzied victory
celebrations erupted Tuesday all across Delhi as AAP supporters burst
crackers, beat drums and danced as the party headed to a victory in the
Delhi election.
The biggest celebration was on at the AAP
headquarters at East Patel Nagar in west Delhi where thousands of Aam
Aadmi Party activists as well as supporters cheered every time the party
won a seat.
Many waved AAP flags and others held photographs of party leader and former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The AAP led in 43 seats
and the BJP in 11 and the Congress in 3 seats as officials Tuesday
counted the votes polled in the 70-member Delhi assembly election.
Aam
Aadmi Party leaders Manish Sisodia and Somnath Bharti, who were
ministers in the Arvind Kejriwal government, forged ahead of their
rivals, election officials said.
BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi and Congress veteran A.K. Walia also forged ahead of their rivals.
Exit
polls have predicted a win for the AAP, which ruled Delhi for 49 days
until Kejriwal resigned as chief minister in February 2014.
Earlier, Kejriwal tweeted: "All the very best Delhiites. Do pray. Prayers are very powerful."
Over 67 percent of the 13.3 million electorate voted Saturday.
"All the very best, Delhiites," said AAP leader and former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal Tuesday ahead of Delhi vote count.

AAP leader Yogendra Yadav indicated Tuesday that his party was headed
for a victory in the Delhi assembly election, saying "David likely to
overcome Goliath".
"This may be a historic day!" he tweeted. "The
(Narendra Modi) juggernaut likely to halt. David likely to overcome
Goliath. Hope lives again."
