Who has not made goofy faces in a mirror? A lot of people, including US President Barack Obama.

Obama is appearing in a humorous video promoting the administration's health reforms and posted it on Buzzfeed, a social news and entertainment site, titled “Things Everyone Does, but Doesn't Talk About”.

In the video, the president dons a pair of sunglasses and mugs before a mirror and is surprised by a staffer as he pretends to shoot baskets in the Oval Office.

White House spokesman Erik Schultz told the press aboard the presidential jet, Air Force One, that the administration is quite pleased with the response that the video has received.

Within a few hours of being posted, the video received more than six million views.

"Obviously it's a reminder of the enrollment deadline for the Affordable Care Act Feb 15," Schultz said.

"In the past we've had a lot of success finding audiences in these sorts of channels to get them to visit the website. So we believe that this won't be any different," added the spokesman.

The video was intended to create awareness among young Americans about the Affordable Care act and advise them to register for it before Sunday's deadline.

Healthcare reform is probably the president's biggest achievement since he took office in 2009 and -- thanks to strong Republican opposition -- its implementation has also been one of his biggest headaches.
