'Whiplash' maker rues lack of original musicals in Hollywood
Los Angeles, Feb 18
"Whiplash" director Damien
Chazelle, who has already announced a full-fledged musical titled "La
La Land", finds a lack of original scripts of the genre in Hollywood.
"Musicals
are only adaptations these days. There are hardly any originals.
'Whiplash' has helped take off 'La La Land', something I wrote even
before I worked on 'Whiplash'," Chazelle said in a statement.
"By
all means for now this is my dream project. Of course I'm certain I
will write many more dream projects in the future," he added.
"Whiplash" features a stellar combination of actors like J.K. Simmons and Miles Teller.
