Bad news for DDLJ fans. The iconic romance has ended its love story with Mumbai's Maratha Mandir theater.

After a historic 1000 week run, the SRK-Kajol blockbuster made its final curtain call today. The film played out in the 9:15 AM show today for the last time at the theatre.

According to a report in The Times Of India, after DDLJ completed 100-week in December last year, the theatre had requested Yash Raj Films to prepone its morning show to 9:15 AM instead of 11:30 AM. The theater owners were finding it difficult to accommodate the award winning film with new releases every week with just 3 regular shows.

However, the theatre owners had to decide to draw the curtains owing to logistical issues. The staff reportedly had to work for long hours to ensure smooth run of all the shows in the cinema.

Hence it was mutually decided between Yash Raj Banner and theatre owners to end the record breaking run. The film played for 1009 weeks in Maratha Mandir.
