Dr Devi Nampyaparmpil marries Hormis Antony Thaliath

Dr Devi Elizabeth Nampiaparampil and Hormis Antony Thaliath were married Saturday at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in Manhattan. The Rev. Thomas Holahan, a Roman Catholic priest, performed the ceremony.

The bride, 37, is keeping her name. She is an interventional pain-management physician at the Manhattan and Brooklyn campuses of Veterans Affairs New York Harbor Health Care System. She is also an assistant professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at New York University School of Medicine.

She graduated from Northwestern University, from which she also received a medical degree. She also received a master’s degree in journalism at Columbia.

She is a daughter of Mary J. Nampiaparampil and Joseph X. Nampiaparampil of Ardsley, N.Y. Her father retired as the director of corporate list research at Reader’s Digest in Pleasantville, N.Y. Her mother is the director of enrollment services at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Manhattan.

The groom, 39, is an auditor in Manhattan for the New York City Campaign Finance Board. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and received a master’s degree in finance from Harvard.

He is the son of Dr. Lizy Thaliath and Antony Thaliath of Stone Mountain, Ga. His father, who worked in Atlanta, retired as a principal accountant for the Department of Human Resources for the State of Georgia. (http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/22/fashion/weddings/shes-the-one-after-all.html?_r=0
