No new taxes in Punjab budget
Chandigarh: Punjab Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa on Wednesday said no new taxes are being imposed in the state's budget for 2015-16.
Presenting the budget in the state assembly on Wednesday, Dhindsa put up proposals worth Rs.61,814 crore.
The revenue deficit has been projected at Rs.6,394 for 2015-16, up from the current deficit of Rs.6,241 crore.
The fiscal deficit has been projected at Rs.11,895.15 crore for 2015-16.
Dhindsa said a new scheme 'Mukh Mantri Pendu Vikas Yojana' (Chief Minister Rural Development Plan) will be launched for providing basic amenities in villages.
He said the outstanding debt of Punjab stood at a whopping Rs.1.24 lakh crore.
