Kejriwal asks BJP to quit Delhi civic corporations
New Delhi, March 25
Delhi Chief Minister
Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said the AAP would turn the cash-strapped
municipal corporations into profit-making entities if the ruling BJP
quit the civic bodies.
Speaking in the Delhi assembly, Kejriwal
accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of not running the three Municipal
Corporations of Delhi (MCD) in a proper manner, and plunging them into
financial losses.
"I want to say that if MCD is not working, let
BJP resign and AAP will turn MCD into a profit-making entity within a
year," he said.
Kejriwal's remark comes in the wake of the
government refusing to provide grants to the municipal corporations for
the upkeep of the city.
