Leaders throng martyr's village in Ghaziabad
Ghaziabad, April 5
Leaders from various
political parties thronged the house of Sanjiv Kumar here who was among
three soldiers of Rajput Regiment killed in a militant ambush in Tirap
district of Arunachal Pradesh last Thursday.
Prominent among the
visitors at Dhindar village in this district were Rashtriya Lok Dal
leader Ajit Singh, union Minister of State for Agriculture Sanjiv Balyan
and Bharatiya Janta Party state president L.K. Vajpayee.
Janta
Dal (United) general Secretary K.C. Tyagi, condoling the martyr's family
in the village, said the family suffered a double setback as its member
Sanjiv Kumar, 40, was killed in an ambush and the family's crop was
ruined in the recent hail storm.
The family, however, complained
that no minister from Uttar Pradesh government bothered to visit them
and condole their son's sacrifice for the country.
"No minister
came to meet us from the Uttar Pradesh government. Of course, the
district magistrate and the senior superintendent of police were present
at the funeral as a protocol," Jagpal Singh, the martyr's father, said.
