Film on Barack-Michelle first date in works?
Los Angeles, April 11 : Producer Glendon Palmer is reportedly making a film "Southside With You", which is inspired by U.S President Barack Obama's first date with wife Michelle Obama in 1989.
Barack was a young summer associate and his wife was known as lawyer Michelle Robinson back then.
The story follows the couple on a date that took them from the Art Institute of Chicago to a screening of Spike Lee's "Do the Right Thing" to the site of their first kiss outside of an ice cream parlour, reports deadline.com.
Tika Sumpter will portray Michelle, 51 while casting is underway for the role of Barack, 53.
Richard Tanne makes his directorial debut with the project based on his screenplay. Shooting on the upcoming feature begins in Chicago in August.
