killed in Afghanistan suicide bombing
Kabul, April 18 At least 22 people were killed and over 50
injured on Saturday in a suicide bombing at Jalalabad city in Afghanistan.
"A suicide bomber detonated his explosives-laden jacket near a local
bank," a police official told Xinhua news agency.
The attack took place near the New Kabul Bank branch and the city's municipality
office building.
Police found and safely defused a roadside bomb near the first explosion site,
the official added.
The capital city fell to Libya Dawn last August. The armed Islamist coalition
established its own government to confront the internationally recognized one,
currently in exile in the eastern town of Tobruk.
Pro-government forces have been trying to regain control of the capital from
Libya Dawn militias since March.
Although the United Nations brokered several rounds of peace talks between the
opposing parties last September, clashes continue despite the truce agreed upon
by factions.
