Daughters are father's weakness: Big B
Mumbai, April 24: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan's forthcoming film "Piku" explores the sometimes sweet, sometimes bitter relationship of a father and daughter. Emphasising the 'Save the Girl Child' message, the cine icon says daughters are a father's weakness.
"'PIKU'... a slice of life... a journey... a Father and a Daughter... daughters are father's weakness... and may they ever remain so... Savour the moments of the girl in the family.
"Save the girl child... educate her... for when you educate a girl, you educate an entire family... Be proud of our culture and ethics... be proud of our tradition," a post on his Facebook page read on Friday.
The 72-year-old plays the father of the character essayed by actress Deepika Padukone in Shoojit Sircar's directorial, which also stars Irrfan Khan.
The real life father of Shweta Nanda was all praise for daughters on his official blog as well. Big B pointed out to the confluence of his real life with his on-screen character in an interesting manner.
"I am with daughter by my side these days. Shweta at home, PIKU in the profession, and the feel of their presence, sound and worth. I am blessed and honoured in both. My real and my reel meet up. It rarely happens, but it has in this," he posted on srbachchan.tumblr.com.
With a tag line 'Motion Se Hi Emotion', the film promises to take the audience on an emotional road trip. Written by Juhi Chaturvedi, "Piku" is slated to release on May 8.

Smilie my pillar of strength: Emraan Hashmi
Actress Smilie Suri and her husband Vineet Bangera, who are set to flaunt their dance moves in TV show "Nach Baliye 7", were in for a pleasant surprise with a special pre-recorded message from actor Emraan Hashmi.
In the clip, the actor, who has earned tag of a 'serial kisser', showcased his emotional side and termed Smilie as his 'pillar of strength'.
"Smilie and I used to play together; she is like a sister to me. She has been a pillar of strength for me, my wife and son. Mohit & I are extremely protective when it comes to her," Emraan said.
The video message will be showcased in the first episode of the dance reality show on April 26.
Taking a dig at Smilie, the 36-year-old actor noted that he never thought she would ever "get married".
"We never thought Smilie would ever get married because her specifications are high and we never thought there would be a guy for her," the "Mr. X" star said.
Emraan also spilled some beans about the couple.
"I don't think they remember, but I had met Vineet earlier, after that my wife introduced him to me as a boyfriend. They have a common passion, which is present in very few cases. This is a positive aspect and they're a match made in heaven," he said.
Smilie was seen in her brother Mohit Suri’s directorial "Kalyug" in 2005, while Vineet is a dance instructor. The couple got married last year.
The seventh season of the Star Plus show is being judged by actress Preity Zinta, author Chetan Bhagat and choreographer Marzi Pestonji.
Sunny Leone seduces Ram Kapoor in 'Aao na'
Filmmaker Devang Dholakia's movie "Kuch Kuch Locha Hai" has released its third song "Aao na", in which actress Sunny Leone would be seen seducing Ram Kapoor.
Sunny is seen flaunting a red sari -- much like what Dimple Kapadia in the "Jaane do na" song from "Saagar".
"Aao na" is an adaptation of the cult hit "Jaane do na", and has vocals by Shradha Pandit, Ankit Tiwari and Arko. The film's music has been produced by Zee Music Company.
"Kuch Kuch Locha Hai" has already released two songs "Paani wala dance" and "Daru peeke dance". The film also features Evelyn Sharma and Navdeep Chabbra and is slated to hit the theaters on May 8.
