Petrol, diesel price hiked
New Delhi, May 1 : Transport fuel prices were hiked effective Friday by Rs.3.96 per litre for petrol and by Rs.2.37 a litre for diesel, including state levies, in Delhi, following hardening of international crude oil rates and depreciation of the rupee against the dollar.
Rates were last cut by 80 paise per litre on petrol and Rs.1.30 a litre on diesel from April 16, while the increase in rates on this scheduled revision of the month follows global price trends, Indian Oil said.
The price of petrol per litre from Friday is Rs.63.15 in Delhi, Rs.70.44 in Kolkata, Rs.70.84 in Mumbai and Rs.66.08 in Chennai.
Similarly, the new price for diesel per litre is Rs.49.57 in Delhi, Rs.54.17 in Kolkata, Rs.56.87 in Mumbai and Rs.52.76 in Chennai.
