surges 205 points; metal stocks gain
Mumbai, May 4 A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip
Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Monday surged 205.21 points or 0.76 percent.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also trading
58.30 points or 0.71 percent up at 8,239.80 points.
The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at
27,204.63 points, was trading at 27,216.52 points (at 9.25 a.m.) in the early
session, up 205.21 points or 0.76 percent from the previous day's close at
27,011.31 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 27,232.17 points and a low of 27,159.45 points in
the trade so far.
Good buying was observed in metal, healthcare and auto sectors.
