Kochi, May 4
A senior Kerala police official
on Monday was sent out of the examination hall after being caught
indulging in malpractice while writing the Master of Laws (LL.M)
examination.
The official was later identified as T.J. Jose, Inspector General of Police of Thrissur range.
Confirming
the incident to media, V.J. Peter, vice principal of the St. Paul's
College, Kalamassery, said the incident will be intimated to the Mahatma
Gandhi University.
Jose, however, told media that even though
the examination was from 10.00 a.m. to 1 p.m, he left the examination
hall around 11.30 a.m. "I have done nothing wrong and I will return to
write the last examination tomorrow," he said.
The invigilator
who caught Jose while indulging in malpractice was unaware that the
person he was taking action against was a senior police official.
Director
General of Police K.N. Balasubramanian said action would be taken
against the erring official and Additional Director General of Police
Shankar Reddy has been asked to prepare a report after conducting a
probe.
