US rights group declared $20k compensation for Sikh youth killed In Jammu Police firing

Condemning the violence against Sikhs in Jammu, Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) announced $20,000
compensation for the family of Bhai Jagjeet Singh who was killed in police firing.
Bhai Jagjeet Singh of RS Pura was shot dead by the police
while protesting against the removal of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale's
billboard informing the public about June 06 congregation at Simbal
Camp.
The SFJ stated that compensation is to honor Bhai Jagjeet
Singh who sacrificed his life while democratically protesting against the removal
the billboard.
Sikh groups will hold a religious congregation in California on June 7 to
honor Shaheed Bhai Jagjeet Singh who defended Sikhs' right to commemorate the
sacrifice of Sant Bhindranwale.
Citing army invasion of Sri Harmandir Sahib, human rights
lawyer Gurpatwant Singh Pannun stated "history is a witness that the
peaceful Sikh community is always under attack in India for exercising their
democratic right to congregate in support of their right to self determination".
“Only solution to the decades long state oppression against the Sikh community is an independent Sikh country Punjab†added attorney Pannun.
