President greets Canada on National Day
New Delhi, June 30
President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday greeted the government and people of Canada on the eve of its National Day.
In
his message to Canadian Governor General of David Johnston, Mukherjee
said: "On the occasion of Canada's National Day, it is with pleasure
that I convey warm greetings and felicitations on behalf of the
government and people of India."
The president said: "India and
Canada have a shared commitment to democracy, pluralism, tolerance and
rule of law. The bonds of friendship between our two countries are
supported and strengthened by the robust exchanges and collaborations
between our people."
