Modi congratulates Sania Mirza on Wimbledon win
Bishkek/New Delhi, July 12 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated Indian ace tennis player Sania Mirza and Swiss veteran Martina Hingis on winning the Wimbledon women's doubles title.
"Well played Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza. You played wonderful tennis and registered a fantastic win at Wimbledon. We are proud and very happy," Modi, who is in the Kyrgyzstan capital, said in a message.
Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis claimed a 5-7, 7-6(4), 7-5 win over Russians Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina on Saturday.
