Woman executed for UAE murder, terror acts
Abu Dhabi, July 13 A woman found guilty of killing an American teacher on Al Reem Island in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in December last year was executed on Monday.
Ala’a Al Hashemi, 31, was held guilty last month of stabbing an American kindergarten teacher to death in a shopping mall on Abu Dhabi’s Reem Island last year, Gulf News cited Ahmad Al Danhani, attorney general at the State Security Prosecution as saying.
The execution was carried out on Monday after it was approved by President Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Danhani added.
Hashemi was also held guilty of attempting to bomb the house of an American-Egyptian doctor and setting up a social media account to spread terrorist ideology and sending money to Al Qaeda in Yemen.
