Lok Sabha speaker calls all-party meeting
New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Thursday said she will call an all-party meeting to try ending the unrest plaguing the house.
She told reporters: "Discussions are the only way on how the proceedings of parliament can run. Bringing placards to the house is against protocol. Members must refrain from doing this in future.
"Without discussions, the house cannot run. An all-party meeting will be called to resolve the issues," she said.
The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Thursday after the Congress-led opposition raised a din over the Vyapam recruitment scam and the alleged links of BJP leaders with former IPL chief Lalit Modi.
