Yakub Memon woken up early, provided fresh clothes
Nagpur, July 30 Yakub Memon, 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict, was woken up at 3.30 a.m. on Thursday, permitted a warm bath and provided a set of fresh clothes -- hours ahead of his scheduled hanging.
Arrangements to offer namaz and read the Holy Quran were made for Memon at the Nagpur central jail.
He was offered a breakfast of his choice and he then underwent a final medical examination prior to hanging.
Full information was provided to him on why he is being hanged by a magistrate.
Available reports from various sources indicate that Memon had reportedly not eaten since Wednesday, but his health - both mental and physical - was within normal parameters, according to two medical check-ups done on him.
