JNU students union poll records 53.3 percent turnout
New Delhi, Sep 11 The students union election at Jawaharlal Nehru University here on Friday recorded 53.3 percent turnout, a marginal dip from last year.
Last year, the voter-turnout was 54.58 percent.
The voting in the university was conducted at five centres with the exercise ending at 5:30 p.m.
"Counting of votes will start at 9:30 p.m. today (Friday) in the midst of tight security. The process of counting will go on till Sunday morning. The polling was conducted in a peaceful manner," said JNU poll's chief election commissioner Praveen Thallapelli.
