Additional charges against New Jersey doctor

New Jersey: Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of DR. RAJA K. JAGTIANI (DOB: 5/31/1961) of Dumont, New Jersey on charges of Criminal Sexual Contact and Harassment by Offensive Touching.

In a previous press release dated August 27, 2015, the arrest of Dr. Raja K. JAGTIANI was reported for the offenses of Criminal Sexual Contact, Simple Assault and Harassment by Offensive Touching.  Since that press release, and in the course of the continuing investigation, three additional women reported to the Bergenfield Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Special Victims Unit, that they were victims of sexual contact and harassment by Dr. JAGTIANI.  As a result, on September 23, 2015, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Special Victims Unit, and the Bergenfield Police arrested Dr. Raja K. JAGTIANI for these offenses.

Dr. Raja K. JAGTIANI was charged with four (4) counts of Criminal Sexual Contact and one (1) count of Harassment by Offensive Touching.  Bail for these charges was set by the Honorable Susan J. Steele, J.S.C., at $50,000.00 with no ten percent option and no contact with the victims as a condition of bail. Dr. JAGTIANI made bail and was released from the Bergenfield Police Department.

Prosecutor Molinelli states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would also like to thank the Bergenfield Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
