Mercedes-Benz launches AMG GT S sports car

New Delhi, Nov 24 : German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz on Tuesday launched the 'AMG GT S' sports car priced at Rs.2.40 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). “Mercedes-AMG has an unmatched presence in the performance segment in India with as many as ten unique AMG products," said Roland Folger, managing director and chief executive, Mercedes-Benz India. "The launch of the AMG GT S is the finest example of our ‘top of pyramid’ approach for the Indian market, as we are presenting the most acclaimed product from our global portfolio." According to the company, the sports car is powered by an 'AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo' engine which is the lightest V8 engine in its competitive segment with a dry weight of 209 kg. The eight-cylinder engine can generate an output of 375 kW (510 hp) and maximum torque of 650 newton metres. The performance vehicle can sprint from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 3.8 seconds and can attain a top speed of 310 kms per hour.
