Phoenix, AZ:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, ODI Indian Cricket Team Captain conducted the inaugural Winning Ways (Charity) Executive Golf Invitational, at the Phoenician Resort  hosted by Rhiti Sports and organized by IntraEdge Inc, an IT services company based in Phoenix, AZ.

There were over 100 golfers from different parts of the US and India, who played in the 18 hole four ball scramble competition. It was a rare opportunity to play golf with one of India’s  celebrated sports person, MS Dohni.

The proceeds from the event, which included an auction of rare signed cricket memorabilia by Dohni, will benefit the Indian Army and Wounded Warrior Project of the US Army.

The dictionary defines a sportsman as ‘a person who takes part in a sport, more so as a professional. Irrespective of affiliation, a true sportsman’s allegiance is towards his country and team, and what spurs him on towards excellence in the sport: himself.’ Mahendra Singh Dhoni, captain of the Indian Cricket Team typifies such a personality. He has proved his caliber in the world of cricket several times and became a household name in India.

Dhoni was happy to travel to Scottsdale, AZ, to play in an executive golf event in support of The Wounded Warrior Project and the Indian Army, said Kal Somani , CEO of InterEdge.

‘Besides a great weekend of golf and camaraderie, it is the cause that we’re supporting which is even greater. I have enormous respect for service men and women across the world and I do hope that this event will help raise and donate substantial funds as an expression of our gratitude towards the armies of two nations,’ Dhoni said.

Dr. (Lt. Col) Mukesh Roy who traveled from New Jersey to attend the event in Phoenix thanked Dohni for his support for the noble cause. “This is my second meeting with Dohni.  We first met when he had visited New Jersey and attended a reception by BAJANA in Lakewood, NJ where I was so impressed with his humility and love for the county and the armed forces,” Dr Roy said.

“I wanted to support him as I know he was doing this to support the brave men and women of the Indian Army and the US Army
