Pathankot (Punjab), Jan 2 Fresh gunshots and blasts were again heard from the Indian Air Force base here after a lull of around three hours, as combing operations continued following a terror attack early Saturday.

Around four to six armed terrorists in army fatigues attacked the base around 3 a.m., and a fierce gun battle continued till around 8 a.m., killing at least four terrorists.

However, as combing operations continued, with the forces suspecting more terrorists to be hiding, shots were heard again at around 11.30 a.m.

Two blasts were also heard, which sounded like grenades.

There was no official communication on the nature of the firing, even as army officers said that the area is being sanitised.

Unconfirmed reports said two IAF security personnel, and one special force commando of Indian Air Force were killed and few others were injured in the terror attack.

Security forces were put on high alert in Pathankot in Punjab\'s frontier district Gurdaspur on Friday after a senior police official said he and his associates were kidnapped by five armed men in army fatigues.
