Trinamool will come to power again in Bengal: Mukul Roy

Kolkata, Jan 2 Trinamool Congress MP Mukul Roy on Saturday asserted that his party will come back to power in West Bengal with more than two-third majority in the 2016 assembly polls.
Relegated to the sidelines following his CBI grilling in the Saradha scam, Roy, a Rajya Sabha member, on Friday held discussions with party supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at her Kalighat residence, signalling his "homecoming' on the eve of the assembly elections.
"She led the way in ushering in change in Bengal. The elections are approaching; naturally, I had detailed discussions with her. Trinamool will come back to power in Bengal with more than two-third majority," said Roy.
Once considered Trinamool's second-in-command and credited as the architect of its electoral success, Roy was stripped of all party posts including as its national general secretary.
There was much speculation of Roy either floating a new political outfit or join some other party, particularly the Congress.
In indications of their mending fences, Roy and Banerjee exchanged pleasantries in parliament, during the chief minister's visit to New Delhi in December.
Subsequently, he found his way into a Trinamool delegation that met union Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla in Delhi signalling his return to the Trinamool mainstream.
