6.7 magnitude earthquake hits India-Myanmar border
Kolkata, Jan 4 A strong intensity earthquake early Monday hit India-Myanmar border, ripples of which were felt in West Bengal, apart from Manipur, Bangladesh, Nagaland and Arunachal Pardesh.
The earthquake, measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale, according to the National Seismology division of Ministry of Earth Sciences.
There were no report of any loss of life or damage to property till the last reports came in.
The tremor occurred around 4.40 a.m. and people in Kolkata rushed out of their homes.
