Devas (Madhya Pradesh), Jan 17
Curfew continued for the second day in Madhya Pradesh's Devas city and 50 people have been taken into custody a day after violence between two groups left one person killed.
The violence broke out on Saturday in the wake of old enmity after some three-four sword-brandishing unidentified people attacked Narendra Rajoria at Shukruvariya Haat. They left him seriouly injured and he later died at hospital. Violence broke out between two groups later, police said.
Stone-pelting was reported in Malipura and Kharibawari areas and many vehicles were damaged, prompting police to resort to cane-charging. Petrol bombs and ammunition were seized during police raids in the affected areas.
