Sensex provisionally closes 473 points higher
ArrayMumbai, Jan 22 A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Friday provisionally closed trading 473.45 points or 1.98 percent up.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 149.60 points or 2.06 percent up at 7,426.40 points.
The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 24,122.06 points, closed the day's trade provisionally at 24,435.66 points (at 03.33 p.m.), up 473.45 points or 1.98 percent from the previous day's close at 23,962.21 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 24,472.88 points and a low of 24,120.04 points in the trade so far.
