Modi pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi
New Delhi, Jan 30 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary.
"Salutations to beloved Bapu on his Punya Tithi," he said in a tweet.
The prime minister also remembered the martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation and urged people to pay respect to them.
"Remembering the valour of all martyrs who gave their lives for the nation. Their sacrifices remain etched in our memory," Modi said.
"Let us as a nation stand together in silence for two minutes at 11 a.m. today as a mark of respect towards our brave martyrs," he added.
