Vohra calls Mehbooba Mufti for meeting on Tuesday
Jammu, Feb 1 Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra on Monday asked Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti to call on him on Tuesday, as the confusion over government formation gets confounded in the state.
In a letter faxed to the PDP president, Vohra has asked her to call on him at the Raj Bhawan here tomorrow (Tuesday) to discuss the political situation in the aftermath of chief minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed's death.
It has been over three weeks since Sayeed passed away in AIIMS in New Delhi on January 7 that Jammu and Kashmir has been without an elected government.
The confusion got further compounded on Sunday when Mehbooba Mufti told her party leaders she was not ready to become the chief minister of the state "for nothing".
Mehbooba has sought time bound assurances from the Centre on the implementation of the agenda of alliance between her party and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
