PDP pushes for confidence building measures in Kashmir
Jammu, Feb 3 The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said on Wednesday that the party will not stake claim to form government in Jammu and Kashmir unless the central government announces some confidence-building measures (CBMs) for the state.
"There are no preconditions from our side on government formation in the state. We only want implementation of the already agreed upon agenda of alliance," PDP legislator Firdous Tak told reporters.
"Unless the Centre announces the CBMs which would be in line with the agreed terms, we would not be ready for government formation," he added.
Ghulam Nabi Azad, former state chief minister and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, said here on Wednesday that alliance partners PDP and Bharatiya Janata Party must quickly decide whether or not they want to form the government in the state.
