New Delhi, Feb 23 :The Rajya Sabha will on Tuesday take up a short duration discussion on the situation arising in the central Institutions of higher education with specific reference to Jawaharlal Nehru University and Hyderabad University.

The discussion was one of the key demands put up by the opposition, in the wake of the recent incidents at JNU, where anti-national slogans were allegedly raised, a charge that the students have denied, but led to the arrest of student union president Kanhaiya Kumar.

In Hyderabad University, Dalit student Rohith Vemula committed suicide allegedly after he was suspended and his hostel facility withdrawn.
