No easy road to freedom: Sanjay Dutt
Pune, Feb 25 There's no easy road to freedom, said Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt upon his exit from the Yerwada Central Jail (YCJ) here on Thursday after serving a 42-month prison-term for illegal possession of arms during the March 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
Before boarding a chartered flight to Mumbai, Sanjay, who was welcomed by a surge of fans here, told the media: "There is no easy road to freedom."
The "Kaante" star also credited his fans and well-wishers for their unending support.
He said: "I am here because of their (fans') support."
On the silver screen, Sanjay was last seen in the 2014 film "PK" by director and his close friend Rajkumar Hirani.
The 56-year-old actor was sentenced to undergo five years rigorous imprisonment.
Arrested in 1993, Dutt had already served 18 months as an undertrial and then returned to jail in May 2013 to serve the remaining 42 months of his sentence.
