Budget focused on rural development: Modi
New Delhi, Feb 29 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the general budget was "focused on development of agriculture, farmers, women and rural areas".
"The budget clearly calls for electrifying all villages thus giving an impetus to rural infrastructure," he said in a televised address.
The budget reflects our commitment to electrify villages by 2018, he added.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday presented the general budget in parliament.
