Online approval for erecting monuments soon: Government
New Delhi, March 15 The government will soon provide a single-window clearance for urban development projects and setting up of monuments by citizens and others, Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu said in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
"Earlier for all these, people had to come to Delhi. Now there will be online approval," he said while piloting the Real Estate Regulator (Regulation and Development) Bill in the lower house of parliament.
To make things easier, he said, "henceforth online approval system will be introduced for citizens and departments who want to install a monument in memory of some leaders".
Naidu said his ministry is in favour of bringing in single-window clearance in governance and to bring about "ease of doing business in the country", it will take all necessary steps to unleash reforms.
"We can no longer perform without reforms," he said.
The government last week said "online approvals for construction near monuments" will be given within 72 hours.
