Rahul Gandhi condemns lathicharge on NIT students

New Delhi, April 7 Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday condemned the use of force against students at the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar.
"Please listen to students and understand their problems and concerns, don't try to bully them into submission," Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet from his official handle.
"Strongly condemn lathicharge on NIT Srinagar students. When will BJP and allies learn that brute force against students can never be a solution?" he said.
Tension had been brewing in the NIT campus since the India-West Indies T-20 World Cup match.
The paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was deployed in the campus late Tuesday night, and a team from the Human Resource Development ministry was sent there.
