Landslide kills 16 in Arunachal Pradesh

Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh), April 22 At least 16 people were killed and many buried under debris in a landslide that struck Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh early Friday morning, officials said.

Rescue operations are underway and 16 bodies have been recovered so far.

"The landslide occurred somewhere around 2.30 a.m today (Friday). Local authorities are involved in the rescue operations," a senior official told IANS.
