Only National Award is important to me: Vishal Bhardwaj
New Delhi, May 3 : Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, who has bagged the Best Screenplay Writer (adapted) Award for "Talvar" at the 63rd National Films Awards here on Tuesday, says it's the only award that is very important for him.
Bharadwaj was at Vigyan Bhawan here to receive the award instituted by the government of India.
Asked how important are awards for him, Bhardwaj told IANS: "Only the National Award is very important to me."
The filmmaker says that bagging the National Award feels great.
"It feels great because you work for only this day," he added.
This is not the first time Bhardwaj has bagged the National Award. He also won the National Award for Best Screen Play in 2015 for the film "Haider".
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, "Talvar" was based on the 2008 Noida double murder case, in which a teenaged girl and her family servant were found murdered, and her parents were arrested for the killings.
