Democracy has won in Uttarakhand: Congress
New Delhi, May 10 The Congress victory in the Uttarakhand assembly floor test is a victory for democracy, the party said on Tuesday.
"Democracy wins in Uttarakhand. Defeat for conspirators. Truth always wins over muscle and money power," spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said.
He asked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which teamed up with Congress rebels to topple Chief Minister Harish Rawat, to "apologise to the nation".
Added Ghulam Nabi Azad: "Democracy has won. It is because of Supreme Court that conducting floor test was made possible in Uttarakhand. BJP tried to kill democracy."
The Congress in Uttarakhand led by Harish Rawat claimed to have won the floor test on Tuesday. However, the result will be declared officially by the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
