New Delhi, June 1
A 62-year-old retired IAS officer was killed after a speeding car hit him here on Tuesday, police said.
The accident took place at the Mahipalpur flyover in South Delhi when Arjun Kumar Jain was repairing his car on the roadside.
Jain, a resident of Gurgaon, was going to his home from Delhi along with his daughter when the accident occurred.
"Jain was repairing his car on the road side after a technical snag when another car hit him and dragged him for a few metres," said a police officer.
The driver of the car, whom police are trying to identify, fled from the spot. Passersby informed police and rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
His daughter, however, escaped unhurt in the accident, police said.
