First time that any government has got such immense love: Modi
Bhubaneswar, June 2 It is for the first time that a government continues to receive immense love from the people even in the third year of its tenure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday.
"There is no election, no protest, but still you all have come out here in this heat, which shows the immense love towards the government," Modi said, addressing a public rally in Odisha's Balasore city.
"By seeing such immense support from people, we get empowered to work more for the people of the country," he added.
The prime minister drew a contrast between his approach to governance with how the country was run previously.
"Earlier governments would think only they worked for the country and only they could take the country on the path of success, but our government believes in Jan Bhagidari, where contribution of every citizen is required for development," he said.
"Our government believes in Sabka Sath-Sabka Vikas (Everyone's Participation, Everyone's Development)," he added.
The prime minister said that his government is dedicated to the poor of the country.
"We don't want any state or any region in the country to be devoid of development and change. Everyone should get the benefit of development. The focus of every government scheme should be the poor; we have taken special steps towards eradicating poverty," he said.
