'Fireflies in the Abyss' wins at film festival in Kerala
Mumbai, June 15 : Director Chandrasekhar Reddy's acclaimed documentary “Fireflies in the Abyss†won the award for the Best Long Documentary at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK).
The film won the best documentary award in the category of documentaries of 40 minutes and above length category at IDSFFK, which concluded on Tuesday.
“IDSFFK has become an important destination for documentaries, and sharing the film with the discerning audience in Kerala was special, but the film winning the top award is a cherry on top,†Reddy said in a statement.
It will be also screened as part of Indian and South Asian films selected at the London Indian Film Festival.
"Fireflies in the Abyss", which is about children working in coal mines in northeast India, will be released by Drishyam Films on July 1.
